3 Options for Your Bathroom Wall Decor
My bathroom decor is missing in action. What can I do to perk up these walls and not spend a fortune?
You’re in luck! Changing your bathroom wall decor is one of simplest things you can do to change the look of your bath… and yes, not spend a lot a dollars.
Is it time for a change in your bathroom decor, but you do not want to go to the time and expense of a full remodel. An easy place to start is right there on the walls. Moreover, depending on the bathroom wall decor options you ultimately decide on, the cost can fit into any penny pincher’s wallet. Yes, I do mean you have options. Three, in fact! With any of these options, you can go from drab to fab and you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to accomplish.
Add Art for an Instant Update to Your Bathroom Walls
One of the easiest ways to add pizazz to your bathroom wall decor is just adding a simple decorative element, like a poster or painting. Just be sure that whatever you choose can stand up to moisture (there is a lot of that in the bathroom). But art doesn’t have to be “art.” There are many wall decorations to choose from — plaques, tin posters, mirrors and even junk market finds can add to your bathroom wall decor. Before you add anything, check to make sure that they go with the theme of the room. For instance, a painting of a fruit bowl may not be out of place, but nautical inspired shadow box and a seashell covered mirror might be just the elements that work.
Shelves and Cabinets Can be Bathroom Wall Decor, Too
Shelves and cabinets are not just for storage. They can serve as great bathroom wall decorthat can hold even more bathroom wall decor! Talk about multi-tasking. Shelves and cabinets can go from high-tech and contemporary with stainless steel to cottage cozy with linens and lace. However, you should make sure these wall units are not too big and bulky for the room that could give it a cluttered look (a look you probably want to avoid in the bathroom).
Paint and Wallpaper Stand on Their Own as Bathroom Wall Decor
You have heard it before; paint is the easiest and cheapest way to change a room. But don’t think of it as just the background some other bathroom decorations. Paint (and wallpaper, too) can be the bathroom wall decor. With a few small cans of paint and some masking tape, you can create your own geometric designs. And with stencils (easy to make yourself), you can create just about anything else, from a favorite quote to elaborate damask style designs. Wallpaper is also great for adding design to your bathroom walls. If four walls is too much design for you, then try it on one wall or even in small splashes framed with decorative molding. Something else that you need to consider for the decor is the regular paint or wallpaper. Just make sure to pick color and patterns that match the rest of your bathroom decor.
Any of the bathroom wall decor in the photo collage above would be great (and just click on the photo for more ideas from Amazon), but I’m partial to the to the oval seashell mirror on the left from Tikimster. I’ve often thought about creating a mirror like this myself, but that’s a lot of seashells to be glued down. And once you realize how little it will cost you at Amazon, you’ll want to add these seashells to your bathroom wall decor, too!
